Press Officer to Internationella Engelska Skolan

You will be a part of IES head office, providing support and allowing spokespeople, school principals and staff to focus on what is most important for IES, our students. As part of our central communications team, you will play an important role making this a reality every day, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, together with passionate educators and experienced functional specialists.
About the roleAs press officer at IES, you are responsible for reactive and proactive media relations from start to finish, ensuring strategic alignment with the overall company strategy and the current communications strategy. You plan and execute media relations cooperating with internal stakeholders at the highest level of the company and in our schools and you are responsible for building and maintaining good relations with the press and other external key opinion leaders. As part of the highly regulated and politically prioritized area of education, opinion building through various channels is also key to the role. The role is also responsible for building the IES bench of spokespeople, in cooperation with the rest of the Communications team, who has a 360 approach to storytelling and news.

About youWe think you have:
A passion for education and a strong wish to be part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of our students
5 -10 years of experience in journalism, strategic communications and/or PR
Documented experience in brand building and thought leadership communications through planning and executing media relations from start to finish
Experience from crisis communications
Excellent skills in writing and editing texts differentiated for different target groups
Documented experience from sensitive issues management and media training
A good understanding of the political environment and experience from opinion building in such an environment
Experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic, decentralised organisation where problem-solving and cooperation is the name of the game
Strong stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in English and Swedish, orally and written (native English speaker is a plus)
