At IES Österåker, we are now looking for a qualified librarian/admin  to join our team.

Your New Job

We are seeking a qualified librarian to establish and develop our school library at IES Österåker. As one of the key individuals at our school, you will ensure that the literature in our library is always updated to suit our students. You are also creative in your approach to engaging our students and are enthusiastic about planning events to increase their engagement in reading. This could include book clubs, reading circles, or lectures.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a librarian education. 

You are independent and driven, finding great joy in working with children. You know how to inspire, teach, and encourage our students to read. You also have a commitment to language development and promoting reading. 

You appreciate staying informed about current trends, continuously updating our school library to reflect our students' interests and knowledge.

To thrive in our environment, you are outgoing, social, flexible, and have the ability to create engagement and participation. You have excellent proficiency in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Good IT skills are a requirement. Previous experience working in a library or educational setting is advantageous. 

The position is full-time, 70%librarian, 30% school admin, and we apply a 6-month probationary period.

Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
